The fourth case of Inspector Malin Fors. A sunny May morning. The residents of Linköping are enjoying the first spring rays on the terraces of restaurants. Swallows circle in the sky, and colorful tulips enhance the peaceful atmosphere. A mother with two little girls approaches an ATM. Suddenly, everything is engulfed by emptiness, a shockwave sweeps away the idyll, leaving behind only chaos, screams, and pain. A bomb has shattered not only the bank but all certainties. For Fors, the case is more personal than ever. At the time of the explosion, she stands before her mother's coffin in the Chapel of the Resurrection, trying to feel something. She struggles not to seek solace in alcohol again. Her daughter wants to attend an elite school far from her, and when Malin's father returns from Tenerife, a secret that her parents… surfaces.
