Beschreibung
The Beatnik-inspired Pašerák snů is a loose continuation of the author's debut Modrej soumrak nad městem; both texts are now published together in one book. The main character of Pašerák snů is the author's literary double, Eduard Remody, who is a possessed narrator of his own life. In a spontaneous, distinctive, and often brutally cynical street language, Remody describes the fates of his friends surviving on the social periphery, various dreamers, desperate souls, gamblers, pimps, madmen, and even normally 'crazy' people. The text is written in an electrifying, readable style that keeps the reader on edge. The author's debut, Modrej soumrak nad městem, has a more meditative character; it is a kind of visual reconstruction of a certain part of life and the author's subjective synesthesia of colors and connotations. Besides the stories themselves, both texts also present a sort of manifesto from the author. He defines his writing as a suicidal psychoanalysis. Rather than creating fiction, writing for him is a way to understand life and the world or to lighten reality, to explore it, change it, compare the shade of the existing and the described. In Krhut's portrayal, writing is also a therapy that can be therapeutic for the reader as well.
