The drawings of VLADIMÍR RENČÍN (1941) are among the fundamental and most enduring values of our nation, firmly anchored in Czech culture. Although they are not simple, they appeal to the broadest audience. Renčín is known by everyone, from the president to the garbage collector, from university professors to farmers. This is also what makes it surprising. When he had an exhibition shortly after his fortieth birthday at the Old Town Hall in Prague, over 140,000 people attended. It was probably the first and perhaps the last time this noble building shook with laughter. The Visitor's Book still holds thousands of signatures and hundreds of messages from enthusiastic visitors.
