Mgr. Ludmila Škrabáková studied general anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University, where she is currently a doctoral student. She has been enchanted by the Amazon jungle, which she continuously returns to since her first research for her bachelor's thesis. She is interested in the lives of local people in conditions of the greatest biodiversity and natural wealth, as well as one of the most challenging environments to live in on Earth. The interaction between the rainforest and the indigenous people, who have managed to live in mutual symbiosis and respect for generations, is an inexhaustible topic for her ethnobotanical research. This mutual respect exists because Amazonian Indians perceive nature and everything it represents as living beings, often more powerful and capable than humans.
