The monograph provides a comprehensive view of the treatment of childhood fractures, including upper extremities such as the hand, pelvic fractures, and lower extremities including the foot, supplemented by head injuries, base of skull injuries, facial skeleton fractures, and spinal injuries. The main text is divided into two parts. The general part begins with the historical development of pediatric traumatology and defines the differences between childhood fractures and those in adults. The next chapter discusses growing bones, followed by texts addressing the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnostics, and basics of therapy for childhood fractures. A detailed treatment consideration is then specified in a special part of the monograph for the treatment of individual locations. The description of fractures in the special part of the book according to anatomical regions is exhaustive, and it also includes joint dislocations and soft tissue injuries. Chapters on fractures of the upper extremity, pelvis, and lower extremity are supplemented by chapters from specialists.
