The book 'Blues for the Girl's Soul' presents readers with a substantial selection from the works of Miroslav Kubes (* 1952), a poet, songwriter, and founding actor of the Hanácké theater, who tragically died in 1975. Kubes's poems represent an important and still resonant Czech version of beatnik poetry. The book includes an insightful afterword by Zbyněk Benýšek and a DVD featuring excerpts from Kubes's acting roles, songwriting, and a number of archival photographs.
