Beschreibung
The hybrid imaging method of positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) represents a combination of functional and morphological-anatomical whole-body imaging. The authors aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the basic principles of PET, CT, and hybrid imaging, as well as the most important clinical indications. The focus of the publication "Clinical PET and PET/CT" is on oncology, which constitutes the majority of indications for hybrid examination. In addition to searching for malignant tumor foci, staging, and monitoring the therapeutic effect of the chosen treatment, attention is also given to epileptology, cardiology, and the search for inflammatory foci.
