The fourth volume of the Collected Works of Jaroslav Hutka, Prose I, contains all of the author's fully preserved and completed prose texts created before his departure into exile, that is, from 1965 to 1978. This extensive collection includes, in addition to two previously published samizdat novels, Dvorky and Plechovka, a number of short stories, novellas, essays, and fragments mapping Hutka's hippie period and the years of his first confrontation with communist power. Many of the published prose works are appearing in book form for the first time.
