Angiologie 2008 - Trendy soudobé angiologie. Svazek 3 – Spáčil Jiří (2011)

The publication presents the written form of contributions presented at the 13th Angiology Symposium with a postgraduate theme organized by the Czech Angiology Society and the Slovak Angiology Society in June 2007 in Piešťany, Slovakia, focusing on three professional topics that are among the most common in clinical practice. The introductory section addresses the issue of vasculitis: in addition to classification and clinical presentation, it discusses the significance of PET imaging in the diagnosis of large vessel vasculitis in patients with fever of unknown origin, Raynaud's syndrome as a symptom of vasculitis, and the importance of capillaroscopy. Another topic is antithrombotic drugs in vascular diseases - contributions are primarily dedicated to anticoagulant treatment of venous thrombosis, as well as thrombolytic treatment of iliofemoral thrombosis or antiplatelet treatment in patients with ischemic disease of the lower limbs. The third part contains communications related to lymphology: it discusses, for example, the anatomical and physiological aspects of manual lymphatic drainage, lymphoscintigraphy of the lower limbs, lymphedema, compressive therapy for lymphatic swelling, experiences with spa treatment in patients with lymphedema, and more.
