A collection of nine mature, readable short stories presents Martin Vokurka for the first time in book form as a prominent contemporary prose writer. Doc. MUDr. Martin Vokurka, CSc. (* 1962) graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at Charles University in Prague. Since his graduation, he has worked at the Institute of Pathological Physiology at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, currently as an associate professor and deputy head. He teaches pathological physiology, engages in scientific research, publishes professional works, and is also the main author of several explanatory medical dictionaries intended for both professionals and the general public, as well as a co-author of the Dictionary of Non-standard Czech. His main additional interest is literature. He has published his work - both prose and poetry - in literary magazines, both print and online (Literární noviny, Tvar, Dílna Hostu, Britské listy, Psí víno, Weles, Dobrá adresa, Wagon).
