Pharmacological research and development brings new drugs that act on a broader spectrum of drug targets. This expands treatment options, but at the same time complicates navigation through the vast array of medications, their pharmacological effects, side effects, and interactions. The introductory part of the book summarizes the basics of clinical pharmacology applicable in everyday therapeutic practice. The text of the special section presents the most important findings about groups of drugs used for diseases of individual organs. The effort to utilize the publication also in dentistry led to the inclusion of notes for dental practice and a section covering particularly significant topics in the field, which are focused not only on treating dental patients but also on caring for patients with complicated health conditions and on emergency situations in dentistry. The goal of the publication is to facilitate the acquisition of basic knowledge in clinical and special pharmacology for physicians in practice as well as for students in master's and bachelor's programs.
