Mizíme – Sebauerová Johanna (2025)

A charming, immensely witty, and simultaneously profound story from the present with roots in ancient times takes place in a village named Nincshof, located for centuries in the easternmost corner of Austria near the Hungarian border. Strange things happen here; the inhabitants rarely leave their village, men take their wives' surnames, and houses once stood on stilts to avoid disappearing in a swamp full of eels. However, modern times are also bearing down on the locals, and the mayor of Nincshof, fed up with politicians and bureaucratic red tape, longs to hide his community from the bureaucrats in Vienna and Brussels. So, together with a trio of friends, he devises a way to liberate the village from the pressures of modern demands and ensure that the world forgets about it.

In the style of former avant-garde movements, they proudly call themselves "oblivionists," or activists of forgetfulness. The oblivionists from Nincshof undertake various measures to erase their home from the memory of the present. The municipal website disappears from the internet, road signs and hiking markers are mysteriously removed overnight. Everything seems to be going smoothly.
