Fourteen-year-old Billie spends most of her life in a gray panel housing estate, where she lives with her mother Marika. By the end of the month, they usually have barely enough money for pasta with ketchup, but Marika manages to brighten their everyday reality with her big heart and sense of imagination. One day, however, her grandmother unexpectedly arrives from Hungary, and nothing is supposed to be the same as it was before. Billie embarks on a solitary journey, beginning to search for her father and answers to other unforeseen questions. For instance, why does she so often dream of the sea, even though she has never been there...
