Jako v nebi, jenže jinak - Nová setkání se samotáři z Čech a Moravy – Palán Aleš (2024)

Solitaries do not only live in Šumava. Aleš Palán, author of the bestseller 'Better to Go Crazy in the Wilderness,' brings encounters with other individuals living away from civilization. For a year and a half, he traveled to remote areas from Chodsko to the White Carpathians, from the Jizera Mountains to the Beskids. In the book 'Like in Heaven, Only Different,' we find an interview with a woman who has lived in a mountain solitude a few kilometers from the Slovak border for essentially her entire long life. We meet a guy who bought an old military vehicle twenty years ago and has since hidden among the South Bohemian ponds. We even get a glimpse into the hermitage of the only contemporary hermit, Franciscan Brother Anděl.
Encounters with Czech and Moravian solitaries again bring distinct attitudes, unique life stories, and a good dose of natural mysticism. Compared to the book 'Better to Go Crazy in the Wilderness,' it also offers an unexpected portion of humor.
