When someone cuts down the alley of ancient trees on the dam of the pond, great-grandma is very sad. The trees remembered her parents and grandparents, and she played under them as a child. Sofinka begins to understand how time passes and that it is important to know about one's ancestors. The story develops children's relationship with the landscape around us and their own roots. And it ends with hope: The students of the local school planted a new alley behind the village. Sofinka will also plant her first tree – a memory for future generations.
