Beschreibung
A short story novel about great friendships and small betrayals. Just as a rope is woven from strong fibers, the novel in stories "No One Is Up There Anymore" forms a sturdy cord of tales with its characters and motifs, among whose knots lies the contemplative yet earthy world of climbers, the emotional world of music, or the environment of hospitals. The protagonists go to heal their poorly healing wounds on sheer cliffs, sometimes leaving them to freeze directly on eight-thousanders. They try to transform their failures from life in the lowlands into the wounds of victors, for where danger grows, so does what saves. The mountains thus become witnesses to the fleeting bustle of those who ultimately built a fortress within them. The main roles are played by great friendships, small betrayals, and essential love, from which the characters of the novel, with varying degrees of success, erase the layers of civilization.
