The goal that this book sets for itself is to demonstrate and clarify the technical aspects of the historically given conditions of human life and thought. When we say that our world is relatively shrinking and increasingly connecting due to transportation, communication, and even military technology, perhaps no one doubts that the orientation of the development of our civilization is primarily based on the direction of machine and general technological development. However, most people are not aware that technology is the fundamental source of our humanity. Metaphorically speaking, we are riding on a technological tiger from which we cannot dismount, but we can and must tame it. Technology establishes people's responsibility for their actions, and the historically and culturally specific social function of technology represents the chosen ethical dimension of human behavior. People are becoming stronger and more intelligent outwardly, thanks to the powerful development of merely amplifying functions of technology, but they are not becoming better beings. The ethical level of people does not increase.
