A humorous novel in which two Scottish terriers, Andrýsek and Ronánek, convince a middle-aged lady that life can still be wonderful and exciting even after a divorce. The narrator, Ela, shocks her husband right at the beginning of the book when she calmly accepts his proposal for divorce and immediately starts planning her life according to her own wishes. The unexpected mishaps, troubles, and disasters that life brings are particularly enjoyed by Ronánek, who has earned the nickname Little Cretin due to his immunity to any form of upbringing. His reactions to various family and social events are quite peculiar, and he often finds himself in disputes not only with his brother Andrýsek but also with Ela, as the most striking exaggeration of the entire novel lies in the fact that while Ela can communicate with her dogs, it does not mean that she can always agree with them. The diverse adventures of this trio and other characters are united by the typical storytelling humor of Zdena Frýbová, which has won the hearts of readers many times.
