The birth of the kingdom takes place during the struggles between the Přemyslid princes for the Czech throne. Although Přemysl was the fourth son of King Vladislav, he did not remain on the sidelines and, alongside his brother Bedřich, played a significant role in regaining their father's lost throne, which was temporarily occupied by Prince Soběslav with the help of Frederick Barbarossa. However, even after Duke Bedřich's death, Přemysl was not first in the line of succession. He joined the youngest Vladislav on the crusade to the Holy Land, and it was there, among the foremost rulers of Europe, that he gained the fame and respect that destined him for a path as a monarch. The historical chronicle THE PREMYSLIDS continues with the second book, The King's Way.
