The story of the book begins in 2030, then retrospectively returns to 2018. A young girl, who graduated from a high school with Spanish as the language of instruction in Olomouc in 2010, chooses to study IT at the Faculty of Science at Palacký University, where she is accepted. At the same time, she applies to the local conservatory and auditions for the violin program. She is also accepted here. Shortly after, she discovers a desire to pursue music and leaves the Faculty of Science. After completing her studies at the conservatory in 2016, she seeks employment without success in Moravian orchestras. Even the Basic Art Schools in the Olomouc region are not eager to accept the young aspiring teacher. Therefore, Marcela Jandová gratefully accepts a position as a violin teacher in Jeseník, in the northern part of the Olomouc region. Jeseník is a town that at that time was experiencing a period of 'unused territory' – an area of underutilization, declining production, rising unemployment, depopulation, and the emigration of young people from the Jesenicko region to areas with job offers, decent salaries, family establishment, and housing opportunities.
