Two completely different eras, two girls with the same name, and one house that connects them. Bohemia at the beginning of the 19th century, and a family that belongs to the Czech nobility. Their daughter Kateřina is a well-read young lady, but unfortunately, she is a bit unstable and decides to end her life because she doesn't know how to cope with it. And Kateřina, who lives in the present day, faces similar problems as her namesake once did. The book is a novel with elements of the supernatural, featuring another hidden world that strongly influences both girls. "I stood today in the pink room by the window, in the same place where that girl in my dream once stood. In that dream, which marked the beginning of all this. I stood there and remembered what I felt for her back then. She looked so vulnerable and so unhappy. Perhaps I felt similarly today, as she did back then."
