Actress Jiřina Bohdalová has not had an easy life, either personally or professionally. She applied to DAMU three times, and when she finally got accepted to study acting on her third attempt, her father was imprisoned by the communists - and she had to take care of the whole family. After filming the movie "Ucho," which ended up being shelved after its completion, she was not allowed in front of the film camera for a long time. Nevertheless, she became one of the best and most beloved Czech actresses, who had one immense stroke of luck - early in her artistic career, she established herself not only on stage but primarily on television. Together with Vladimír Dvořák, they became popular hosts of many television New Year's Eve specials and the entertainment series Televarieté. However, her extraordinary popularity with viewers is also due to the characters she portrayed in numerous television comedies, series, and fairy tales (as well as in "variety" sketches - most notably with Vladimír Menšík) or in films such as "Hvězda zvaná Pelynek," "Dáma na kolejích," "Bílá paní," "Světáci," "Pěnička a Paraplíčko," "Ucho," "Smích se lepí na paty," "Jedna kočka za druhou," "Fany..."
