The second part of the crime novel series Murders in Sandhamn about Inspector Thomas Andreasson and lawyer Nora Linde. A shot from a starting pistol rings out on Sandhamn. The large sailboat Swan is the first to cross the starting line, but unexpectedly slows down and changes direction. Someone has shot the captain, right on the open sea. It turns out that the victim is Oskar Juliander, an excellent sailor and vice-chairman of the Swedish Royal Yacht Club, a well-known and successful lawyer.
