This first issue of an ongoing historical crime series focuses on legends of Czech criminology, beginning with Jaroslav Zahrádka, one of the country’s best-known and most successful detectives. He joined the police in 1938 and retired in 1976, solving hundreds of very serious cases during his career, many of which were later published in book form or filmed. Despite his advanced age, a personal meeting with him revealed an excellent memory and recollections of an incredible number of cases, which he discussed with detailed knowledge even many years later.
