This physics textbook is part of a comprehensive series of textbooks and workbooks designed in accordance with the Czech Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education. It is intended for pupils with special educational needs, specifically pupils with mild intellectual disabilities, and the individual materials can be used in any year of the second stage of primary school in accordance with the relevant school and individual educational programmes. The ninth-grade textbook covers two extensive thematic units: Energy and the Universe. Energy includes electromagnets, bells, telephones, relays, Faraday's experiment, generators, alternating current, power stations, the importance of electricity, the advantages and disadvantages of different energy sources, transformers, electricity distribution, the thermal effects of electric current, short circuits, fuses, circuit breakers, electric motors, measuring electrical energy, power consumption, the use of electricity at home and in cars, electrical safety, lightning, lightning conductors, nuclear energy, nuclear power stations, nuclear weapons and solar radioactivity. The Universe section covers the solar system, Earth, the Moon and stars. The author's explanations are consistently linked to everyday practice and supported by numerous clear illustrations by Miroslava Jakešová. The contents are in Czech.
