The book thoroughly examines a recent case in which a nurse at a smaller Czech hospital was wrongfully accused of intentionally killing patients. The author, Milada Emmerová, is a physician and a long-time university teacher with extensive experience in intensive care. In June 2015, she captured information in a television news report that represented a crucial methodological error on the part of an experienced doctor. Due to his ignorance, and not just his own, the nurse faced a cruel accusation of even six murders allegedly committed in the smaller Czech hospital. She was threatened with life imprisonment. The media ensured publicity for this outrageousness. Milada Emmerová became involved in the case exactly one year after the investigation began, when the ex officio defense attorney for the accused nurse had been searching for the cause of the rise in potassium concentration in the serum of the last deceased patient throughout this time. Thanks to the establishment of a selfless collaboration between the two professionals, the lawyer and the physician, with the contribution of several other experts and friends, it ultimately resulted in the innocent nurse being acquitted nearly two years after the case arose. It was a difficult, lengthy, and at times hopeless process, considering the approach of the key actors...
