In a meadow near the forest, a young man finds himself unable to remember his past, unable to recall his own name, and actually has no idea why he is where he is. Without any clue as to where he even is. Around him lie a few pages from a guidebook for traveling to other dimensions, but most of the book is destroyed. Piece by piece, he discovers that he has ended up in another dimension, a kind of alternative reality of medieval England, where many things are a little different and some differ quite significantly. Moreover, he soon realizes that the past he wanted to cut himself off from through interdimensional travel is haunting him here as well. Not only must he save the world that has become his new home, but he must also confront the inner workings of his own self and abandon the role of a lifelong loser and punching bag.
