The textbook is part of a series of mathematics textbooks developed according to the RVP. It introduces the concept of ratio (creating cooking recipes), direct and inverse proportions (three-part rule), and percentages (interest rates on deposits and loans). The exercises in the Exercises section have been updated (currency when paying for purchases, price levels). A number of tasks illustrate the importance of mathematical knowledge for life and encourage students to complete various tasks and seek information. Non-standard application problems and challenges are reinforced (e.g., developing geometric imagination, combinatorial tasks). Many tasks lead to reflection on issues related to the environment (e.g., energy-saving bulbs, smoking). The textbook is colorful, featuring photographs of real objects and situations, as well as humorous and motivating colorful illustrations.
