The textbook is part of a series of mathematics textbooks developed according to the RVP. It covers the topic of fractions (expanding and reducing, comparing, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing); whole numbers and rational numbers (comparing, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing), and especially focuses on negative whole and decimal numbers and negative fractions. The exercises have been updated (currency in payment for purchases, price levels). A number of tasks have been included that demonstrate the importance of mathematical knowledge for life and encourage students to complete various tasks and seek information. Non-standard application tasks and problems have been strengthened (e.g., development of geometric imagination, combinatorial tasks). Many tasks lead to reflection on issues related to the environment (e.g., energy-saving bulbs, smoking). The textbook is colorful, featuring photographs of real objects and situations, as well as humorous and motivating colorful illustrations.
