The 4th edition of the textbook contains updated knowledge not only about the solar system, the Sun, Earth, Moon, other planets, asteroids, comets, and meteoroids, but also about stars and galaxies. The textbook also provides a view of the history of the solar system, addressing the characteristics of stars (stellar magnitude, parallax, spectrum, exoplanets), their formation and evolution (HR diagram), our Galaxy, as well as other galaxies, and cosmology, or the universe as a whole. In four appendices, the author discusses the possibility of life in the universe, the origin and evolution of the calendar, the history of space exploration, and astronomical observations. Each chapter and article contains a number of interesting questions and problem-solving tasks, with detailed solutions provided at the end of the book in the chapter 'Problem Solutions.' The textbook is supplemented with 16 pages of color inserts.
