In the 3rd edition from 2008, key competencies that the textbook shapes and develops, expected outcomes of individual chapters, and cross-cutting themes that the textbook helps to implement have been newly added. The textbook is part of the monothematic series of mathematics textbooks for high schools. It can be used for classes with both higher and lower mathematics hours. The text is differentiated as needed, allowing teachers to select content based on the number of hours allocated to mathematics. The monothematic series of mathematics textbooks was prepared in collaboration with the expert group for high schools of the Czech Union of Mathematicians and Physicists. The JČMF symbol, which all these textbooks bear, is a mark of their high professional and methodological level.
