The first volume of the fourth part of a major historiographical work. This volume is dedicated to the fourteenth century, which we could somewhat exaggeratively call the Luxembourg century, the era of the rule of John the Blind, Charles I (IV), and the first half of the reign of Wenceslas IV. It was a time of the greatest power and territorial expansion in the history of the lands of the Czech Crown. The political, as well as cultural and social significance of this epoch required an extraordinary scope for this volume, which compelled the publisher to release it in the form of two volumes.
