Beschreibung
Theologia crucis was for Prof. Amedeo Molnár the 'central question of the theological approach to things and people.' When on May 18, 1989, he invited students of the Comenius Evangelical Theological Faculty in Prague with these words to a lecture series that was still being prepared, he had no idea that he was simultaneously inviting them to his last lecture. Amedeo Molnár began to lecture on 'the theology of the cross' on October 5, but shortly thereafter he was silenced by the events that followed the suppression of the student demonstration on November 17, 1989. He was able to briefly return to the topic after the Christmas holidays. On January 25, 1990, he delivered his final lecture, and just six days later, on January 31, he was silenced in this temporal sense forever. Amedeo Molnár's Theologia crucis remained unfinished. However, the lectures immediately became a challenge for the then-students of evangelical theology. The preserved recordings of the lectures were transcribed, and a number of supposedly lost recordings were discovered, so in this edition, which was prepared and annotated by historian Ota Halama, we can present the legacy of a teacher and theologian who effectively shaped the youth of Protestant churches in Czechoslovakia for decades.
