An unconventional book that is a unique blend of fiction, photo book, and dictionary. The inspiration for writing 44 short stories and taking 44 photographs came from 44 words that differ between Czech and Slovak (e.g., čučoriedka/borůvka, cencúľ/rampouch, bocian/čáp, bozk/polibek,...). The book has two narrative lines that intersect at one point. Martin's story begins in the challenging post-war times, depicting a difficult existence in a remote region, continuing through decades of mundane life, and culminating in the 1990s when the new circumstances overwhelm Martin. In contrast, Tibor's narrative line takes place more or less in the present and describes the bohemian life of the "post-revolutionary" youth.
