Beschreibung

Summer 1663. The Ottoman Empire stretches as far as the Danube. Peace negotiations have failed, and a massive Turkish army led by the Grand Vizier himself approaches the border town of Esztergom. They plan to launch another assault on Vienna, but in their way stands the modern, perfectly armed Upper Hungarian fortress of Újvár - Nové Zámky. The fortress commander, Adam Forgáč, received a clear order from the monarch: under no circumstances must he allow the Mohammedan hordes to cross the Danube. However, the Christian fighters are facing overwhelming odds and are losing strength in disputes between the Viennese authorities and the Hungarian nobility. It seems that the attackers will be easy prey. Meanwhile, Captain Báthory is searching for his son Michal and saves a young peasant girl, Julianna, from Turkish slavery. He is overwhelmed with personal troubles, has lost his former combat skills, and would prefer to hang up his military career. Will he remain indifferent to the call to join the defense of his homeland and the entire Christian world?
