To complete their third year of training, Skandar Smith and his friends must face a series of terrifying trials in the Island’s four zones. Their friendships, loyalty and bonds between riders and unicorns are tested to a limit that only the strongest can withstand. Meanwhile, Skandar’s sister Kenna has finally reached Eagle’s Nest, where Commodore Kazam has allowed her to stay with her brother until a decision is made about her future with her wild unicorn. Yet she feels isolated because of this unusual bond, and when a terrible discovery threatens the future of the Island, all fingers point in one direction.
