Beschreibung
That day in 1901 was made for hunting. A tragic accident during the hunt, however, claims the life of Count Stainton and brings difficult times to the residents of Ashmore Castle. The castle gains a new owner, the count's eldest son Giles. He is not very enthusiastic about the prospect of inheritance. He must sacrifice his previous life, his work as an archaeologist, and exchange the hot Egypt for the hated, gloomy England. And not only that, he soon discovers that in addition to the title, he has also inherited considerable debts from his father. There is only one way to save the family from bankruptcy. He must marry advantageously. Kitty Bayfield, the daughter of a wealthy baronet, is of an age suitable for marriage. She is accompanied by her longtime friend Nina, who also guides her in her introduction to society. The young women are very different. While Kitty is shy and reserved, Nina is outspoken and passionate, quickly winning Giles's heart. He will have to decide - will he choose love or a marriage of obligation? Happiness seems unattainable, but sometimes it is found in the most unexpected places.
