Prekliate dedičstvo (slovensky) – Neuer Václav (2019)

An inheritance arises from the death of a testator and can take various forms. It can bring an unexpected improvement in financial circumstances, but also further death and misfortune. Death for its new owner, misfortune for his loved ones, or for his murderer. An inheritance can consist of, for example, a collection of historical banknotes. But are they really so valuable that people would kill for them? In an old apartment right next to the railway track, where life and time are measured by the passing trains, detectives led by Chief Inspector Petr Ledecký begin an investigation into a murder. As has happened many times before, they search for clues, ascertain facts, estimate motives, and formulate investigative hypotheses. Their ranks are decimated by a flu epidemic during the pre-Christmas season, which keeps Chief Commissioner Ledecký firmly glued to his chair, and thus, while representing his sick boss, he cannot fully devote himself to the investigation. At first glance, this doesn't seem to matter, as observant neighbors provide plenty of credible testimonies and evidence. The limited world of banknote collectors reveals its suspect, and the evidence provided convincingly incriminates him. Moreover, a lie detector also indicates his guilt! But is it really so? Is the murderer behind bars in Leopoldov prison, or is he roaming free? And where is the missing part of the historical...
