At the end of 1889, a young actor named George Reynolds seeks out Holmes and his faithful friend Dr. Watson to help him solve the mystery of why the same audience members attend his performances every night, only in disguise. Meanwhile, Holmes's arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty, becomes embroiled in the murder of a gang leader and, along with his personal bodyguard Moran, must flee from the police and enraged gangsters to uncover who is behind it all. However, they cross paths with Holmes and Watson, and soon all four realize that their cases are closely connected. They form a difficult alliance to uncover the true villains. The trail leads them to a hotel in Switzerland, where they discover that the conspiracy is much larger than any of them expected. No one can be trusted – and perhaps no one will survive...
