Seventeen-year-old Lucy is found brutally murdered in her room. It seems that a wild party took place in the house the previous day, unbeknownst to her parents, who are on vacation. Inspector Lottie Parker soon discovers that Lucy invited her classmate Hannah to the party, where she maliciously humiliated her in front of everyone. When Lottie finds Lucy's bloodied clothes in Hannah's backpack, she has no choice but to take the frightened girl into custody. However, Hannah claims she remembers nothing because someone likely slipped a drug into her drink, which raises doubts in Lottie's mind about her guilt. Meanwhile, the body of a fifteen-year-old boy, who was bartending at the party, is found in a canal. Additionally, Lottie is horrified to learn that her son Sean, whom she picked up from the party, secretly returned in the early morning to retrieve a forgotten jacket. Why did he lie to her? Is her beloved child a witness, a suspect... or perhaps the next target of the killer?
