Beschreibung
Heroes whose stories fascinate even after more than eighty years. Criminals who escaped justice, and victims who have almost been forgotten. Publicist Martin Brabec searches through archives and collaborates with leading historians and regional researchers to revive the forgotten stories from the period of the so-called Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Based on the study of hundreds of pages of contemporary testimonies and court records, he reconstructs the unique story of a Nazi hunter of Czech occultists, who led many people to their deaths but also witnessed mysterious events. He recalls one of the last mass murders at the end of the war, when dozens of innocent people died in the village of Lejčkov and its surroundings, without us knowing exactly why this crime occurred to this day. He revisits the airborne operation TUNGSTEN, which he had the opportunity to discuss twenty years ago with its commander, Major General Rudolf Pernický. He also details the resistance activities associated with the Prime Minister of the Protectorate government, Alois Eliáš, through the story of one of its main – and yet today forgotten – figures, diplomat Hubert Masařík.
