Thirteen-year-old Ava is different from other kids. She is obsessed with the decomposition of dead animals. On the highway where she lives, she regularly finds carcasses, and Ava loves nothing more than to drag her latest find into her hideout by the road, explore it, and document it. But one night she finds the body of her classmate, and fearing that her secret hobby might be revealed, she anonymously calls the police. The case is assigned to Detective Delahaye, but Ava is not willing to just stand by – not when more teenagers are starting to go missing in her sleepy town.
