Beschreibung
Studying heraldic privileges yields a range of insights, as these documents represent a highly specific type of historical source. In the period before the Battle of White Mountain, aristocratic villages were frequently elevated to market towns and market towns to cities, limiting the power of royal towns. The collection of documents is examined primarily from a diplomatic perspective, with the research seeking to determine whether a general formula existed. The book also gives considerable attention to the heraldic aspects of the documents, especially descriptions of the coats of arms granted. The German descriptions often prove more precise and comprehensive than the Czech ones. A unique part of the book is its register, presenting summaries of the documents in both abbreviated and expanded form. The contents are in Czech.
