The book offers one hundred questions and one hundred answers about Antarctica. In several sections, the authors, participants in Antarctic research, present this continent, the history of its discovery, geology, and address climatological issues and the impacts of global warming in Antarctica. In sections on biological sciences, they discuss animals, including microorganisms, and plants of Antarctica. The conclusion is dedicated to the Czech Antarctic research program, interesting facts from the Czech station J. G. Mendel, information about its construction and operation since 2006, and the island of James Ross itself.
