The publication of a contrastive nature focuses on the phraseology of Czech, Croatian, and Bulgarian (and theoretically Slovak) languages. It is aimed at phraseological units that contain a toponymic component in their structure. These phraseological units are analyzed and confronted in terms of formal, semantic, motivational, typological, and origin aspects. At the same time, the publication includes the necessary theory of proper names. An integral part of the book also consists of chapters presenting fundamental Czech, Slovak, Croatian, and Bulgarian phraseological theories, as well as a comprehensive overview of Czech-Slovak and South Slavic (i.e., Bulgarian and [post]Yugoslav) phraseological literature.
