Although the situation in Hungary calmed somewhat in the mid-16th century and the Ottomans ceased their attacks on their neighbors' territories for a time, a major and seemingly unsolvable problem arises. It is a discreet matter that excludes the use of military force, and even the envoy of the Czech king in Buda cannot intervene. Therefore, Queen Anna turns to the royal scribe Jiří Adam from Dobronín. Since this is an extremely dangerous mission, she does not issue any orders this time, yet the lord from Dobronín complies. He soon sets off into the territory of the infidels. But even before he arrives, the first murder occurs. This crime, however, seemingly cannot be connected in any way to the mission in Hungary. Nevertheless, it complicates matters immensely. Fortunately, the royal scribe encounters an old friend...
