Lena Vranská successfully passed her entrance exams to university and is heading to Italy after graduation, where she is supposed to work as an au pair during the summer. She enjoys her time in Italy, especially since she has met a young, attractive medical student with whom she spends her free time. However, shortly after arriving in Venice, she discovers that she is pregnant. She knows very well that the child is her ex-boyfriend Ivan's, but she decides not to admit it to anyone. Instead, she lets her Italian boyfriend Alessio believe that the baby is his. Life with a jealous and possessive Italian is far from a walk in the park. However, Lena does not dare to leave her husband, as according to local laws, she could lose her daughter... So she grits her teeth and endures the marriage. Will she get a chance to rectify the mistakes she has made?
