The aging Rožmberk Petr Vok already knows that his marriage to the young Kateřina of Ludanice was a mistake. The girl not only lacks the expected wealth, but she is also not entirely mentally stable. Vok finds solace in the attractive and energetic Zuzana Vojířová from Vacovice, the mistress of his court. Initially, Rožmberk showers her with expensive gifts, not expecting that she would show interest in him. Nevertheless, fortune smiles upon the ailing last ruler of the five-petaled rose in the form of Zuzana's affection. But will he be able to win her love as well?
