Beschreibung
In old Japan, during the Warring States period, a boy named Takezó is born in the village of Miyamoto, dreaming of becoming a great warrior one day. He tenaciously follows his dream, studying the way of the sword, training hard, and testing his skills against strong and fearsome opponents. On his difficult and dangerous journey toward the wisdom of a warrior, he experiences love and pain, beauty and futility. In the colorful reality of Japan at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, he receives a cursed sword from his father, crafted by the mad swordsmith Muramasa. This dangerous weapon becomes his faithful companion on his path to becoming the most famous swordsman in the Land of the Rising Sun. However, his life journey is interrupted by a terrifying conspiracy that could bring destruction to all of Japan. A historical mosaic seen through the eyes of Jakub Zeman, presented in the form of personal notes from one of the most famous samurai of all time, Miyamoto Musashi, bears witness to the first half of the warrior's life that shaped his combat strategy, mindset, and later direction. From fragments of history, the author has created a cohesive story from a period about which little is still known, yet it offers a sensitive view of the gradual formation of Musashi's character, a samurai and an ordinary man with a good heart and a desire to understand the way of the sword and its mysteries...
