Beschreibung
Until the beginning of World War I, airplanes primarily took off during sports aviation competitions. But already in the first months of the war, military officials realized their significance and gradually began to use large machines for attacks on enemy territory. The most famous German pilot was undoubtedly Manfred von Richthofen, known as the Red Baron. With eighty downed aircraft, he became arguably the most famous flying ace of all time. We will also meet Allied pilots who fought on the Western Front against Germany, and we will remember Czech aviators who stood on opposite sides of the front. We will also look at the Italian and the lesser-known Eastern Front.
